Chocolate Cake

  • 2 cups Flour
  • ¾ cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 ½ tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 cups White Sugar
  • A pinch of Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • ½ cup Oil
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • 2 Eggs


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Spray 2 round cake tins.
  2. In a mixing bowl sieve the dry ingredients together.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla essence and beat with an electric mixer for about 2 minutes, adding the boiling water little by little. Mix well, until combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared tins and bake for 30-40 min, till a test pin comes out clean.
  5. Cool down and decorate.

Use the icing of your choice, get creative with any form of decoration. Lockdown is the ideal time to play around with ingredients that you might have lying around in the house, so let’s play around and get creative!
