The Big 5 highlight of the week was to see the Nkuhuma lion pride and two Birmingham males moving around in our area for the whole week.

Nkuhuma pride – Morné Fouché

Monday, 13 March 2017

  • A pack of 15 wild dogs feeding on a kudu kill on Simbambili firebreak
  • Salayexe, the female leopard feeding on a juvenile kudu on Drongo North
  • Tiyani, the female leopard resting on Shombaan Road
  • A breeding herd of about ten elephants feeding on Robson’s boundary
  • Two elephant bulls feeding around Treehouse Pan
  • One buffalo bull feeding on Gowrie Main
  • Three Birmingham male lions resting on Majingi open area
  • Three lionesses of the Styx pride and two cubs resting close to Worsboom Crossing

  • Salayexe, the female leopard still feeding on the kudu kill on Drongo North
  • One elephant bull feeding on EP open area
  • A breeding herd of about twenty elephants feeding on Rhulani Road
  • One elephant bull feeding on Simbambili firebreak
  • Another breeding herd of about thirty elephants feeding on Madash Road
  • Three buffalo bulls feeding on Lowveld Link
  • Tingana, the male leopard resting at Jaggi Pan
  • Nkuhuma lion pride resting on Buffalo Scull South
  • Shadow, the female leopard and one cub moving north from Maraken Drive

  • Another breeding herd of about twenty elephants feeding on Safari/Shirley’s cutline

  • Two elephant bulls drinking water at Bushcamp Pan

  • Hosana, the young male leopard and Xongile, the young female leopard playing at Baboon Pan
  • One Birmingham male lion resting at Ingwe Pan
  • Tiyani, the young female leopard resting in a Marula tree on Rhulani Road
  • Salayexe, the female leopard resting in a Marula tree on Track South
  • Kurula, the female leopard moving north on Little Gowrie driveway
  • Two Styx pride lionesses and two cubs resting east of Mholowati Crossing
  • Another breeding herd of about thirty elephants feeding on Seepline Road
  • Three buffalo bulls resting on A-main
