Playful Cubs
As a rule, cats don't like water, but this does not seem to be the case for Salayexe's playful cubs. They were having the most fun in a muddy puddle of water in the Manyeleti. They were absolutely soaked to the bone and covered in mud all over. Mom, Salayexe, wasn't too impressed when she returned from a hunting trip and found all her cubs completely covered in mud and soaking wet. She immediately dragged them out of the water and started to clean them up.

Mapogo's Reunited
There is absolutely no better noise to wake up to than the roar of a lion and you know that they are close to the lodge. We set off for our early morning game drive and did not need to drive very long before we found the Mapogo males behind Safari Dam. This was awesome in itself, but even better was seeing that all the Mapogo males were together again.
Mbilo at Big Dam
We had a very good sighting while watching Mbilo chase a squirrel up and down trees around Big Dam. She never caught the squirrel who was just seconds too fast for her. This was quite a change for Mbilo who have been the one being chased the last couple of days. The females in the north are not very friendly towards Mbilo and continuously chase her out of their territories. Even Mbilo's mother, Nyeleti displayed quite negative behavior towards her when she caught up to Mbilo in her territory and then also chased her away. Hopefully Mbilo can establish her own territory soon! |
