Lion scare, brave scrub hare and persisting rhino

King of the bush?

Under the cooling shade of a tree, the Stix pride was relaxing and waiting for dawn to go hunting again.  All of a sudden two young elephant bulls came charging through the thick bush and running in their direction.  The pride got such a big fright and literally scattered in different directions.  It makes you think who really is the "king of the bush"?

Scrub hare wins this round

An unknowing scrub hare was carelessly enjoying its surroundings when it all of a sudden came out from the cover of the low grass and right into view of the female leopard, Mbilo.  Mbilo wasted no time and immediately started chasing after the scrub hare that had already turned and ran.  The scrub hare ran towards a Marula tree but with Mbilo right on it's tail, it turned to run around the tree in order to throw the charging leopard off course, but Mbilo also turned around the tree with effortess grace and then the two of them were just running around and around the tree.  Then, as if planned, the little scrub hare dashed off into the bush with Mbilo still running half a lap around the tree, before realizing she's been fooled and the scrub hare won this round.

Female temperament

Londoz, the rhino bull misjudged the female species horribly when two cows entered his territory.  He went over to them and tried to mate with one of them, but both of them turned and started chasing him away from them.  After a couple of minutes, brave Londoz thought he would give it another try and went over to the females and tried to mount one of them but again he got chased away by the now very irritated females.  But, Londoz did not give up the fight immediately.  He still attempted to mate with them for quite some time, but eventually after being chased and using their horns to push him away he finally left them alone.
