Big 5 Sightings 10 to 16 April 2017

The Big 5 highlight of the week was to see the Styx pride with four new cubs, playing in the Mholewati dry river bed .

  • Seven hyenas feeding on a dead elephant on Our Southern Boundary.
  • Thandi the female leopard and her son Thamba, feeding on a juvenile kudu kill east of Chitwa driveway
  • One Styx lioness with four cubs resting in the Mholewati dry river bed
  • Two Styx lionesses, two cubs and one Birmingham male resting at Ingwe Pan

 

Tuesday, 11 April 2017

  • Thandi, the female leopard and Thamba, still feeding on the kudu kill
  • Two Birminham male lions and one Styx lioness resting on MMM South
  • A breeding herd of about twenty elephants feeding on Seepline Road
  • Nkuhuma pride of lions resting at Simbambili Dam
  • The young Ingrid Dam female leopard, feeding on a duiker kill on Kudu Drift

  • Salayexe, the female leopard, stalking impalas on EP airstrip
  • One elephant bull feeding on Sixes Road
  • A breeding herd of about twenty elephants feeding on Madash Road

  • Another breeding herd of about twenty elephants feeding on Seefs Pan Road
  • Two Birmingham male lions resting south of Ingwe Pan
  • One Styx lioness resting at Ingwe Pan
  • Thandi, the female leopard and Thamba her son, feeding on a steenbok kill on One Eye Pan Road
  • Hosana, the young male leopard resting at Treehouse Pan

  • Three wild dogs chasing after impalas on Little Gowrie driveway
  • Hosana, the young male leopard, resting at Treehouse Pan

  • Three young male lions moving north from Serengeti open area
  • Thandi, the female leopard and her cub resting at One Eye Pan Road
  • One lioness from the Styx pride moving south from MMM South

      Hi Jeff

      The last sighting we have had of Karula was on 16 March 2017.The last sighting recorded of Karula in this area was on 19 March 2017. It is difficult to say if she as moved on to another property at this stage.
