Big 5 Sightings 01 to 07 September 2014

The Big 5 highlight of the week was to see Salayexe, the female leopard, stalking and killing an impala on Jerry Drive. With the alarm calls of the rest of the impalas, Tingana, the male leopard, arrived on the scene and chased her off her kill.

  • Another breeding herd of about fifteen elephants feeding at Boundary Pan
  • A breeding herd of about 200 buffaloes moving east from Our Southern Boundary

  • A breeding herd of about ten elephants feeding at Shirley’s Crossing
  • About twenty buffalo bulls feeding on Our Southern Boundary
  • Another breeding herd of about twenty elephants feeding at Leeukuil
  • About fifteen buffalo bulls feeding at Kudu Drift

  • Kurula, the female leopard, still on the bushbuck kill on Buff Scull North
  • Fifteen buffalo bulls resting north of Serengeti/Manyeleti Crossing
