Big 5 Sightings 07 to 13 July 2014

The Big 5 highlight of the week was to see the wild dog pups for the first time. We have been spending some time around the den this past week and one morning, the pups just popped their little heads out the entrance of the den to greet us. What an amazing sighting!

  • Two male cheetahs moving east from Madash Road
  • A breeding herd of about ten elephants moving north from Our Southern Boundary
  • Two buffalo bulls resting on Rocky Road
  • The Breakaway lion pride resting on Our Southern Boundary
  • The Styx lion pride moving east on Shinzele
  • Five buffalo bulls feeding on Our Southern Boundary
  • A breeding herd of about fifteen elephants feeding at Our father Crossing

  • One Majingi male lion moving north away from Big Dam
  • Six buffalo bulls feeding on Rocky Road
  • A pack of about ten wild dogs resting at the den on Rocky Road
  • One elephant bull moving south from Shirley’s Crossing
  • Two Majingi male lions resting on Mfesi open area
  • The Styx lion pride having a standoff with ten hyena’s on Wetpatch open area
  • Six buffalo bulls feeding on Kudu Drift
