Big 5 Sightings 16 – 22 May 2011

Once more our Big 5 highlight of the week consisted of cats! One of the Tsalala lionesses chased an unknown male leopard up a tree. After being cornered like this for a while the leopard decided to take his chances, jumped out of the tree, flew through the air and ran into the surrounding bush.

  1. Guy Balme says:

Can you pls confirm who Nita the leopard is? Is it Mati & Moyo’s brother?

    Thanks

    • Marlet says:

      Hi Guy
Sorry, my mistake! It should be Ntima. The spell check sometimes changes the names as Ntima is not quite a normal name, so it sometimes changes it to Nita. Ntima stays in the east, she is the daughter of the Cambell Koppies female who resides in Mala Mala / Londolozi. Nyeleti’s three cubs are Imbilo (female) Mati (male) and Moya (female). You are also welcome to check the leopards on our website if you get confused about who is who.

    Thanks!
