This month we are discussing Skincare.
The skin is one of the largest, most complex working organs of the body. Skin reflects emotions, it changes constantly and because of its location it is vulnerable to damage. Many things including nutrition, hygiene, circulation, age, immunity and genes all affect the state of your skin.
Skin care advice:
- Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day to keep your moisture levels high - an important factor in cell renewal and hydration, in order to prevent wrinkle formation.
- Have at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Whilst sleeping, new cells are formed, waste is removed and the skin prepares itself for the day ahead.
- Use a sunscreen every day as damage caused by exposure to UV rays causes wrinkles and aging skin.
- Eat a healthy diet. Skin must be fed from the inside with all the necessary vitamins, minerals and nutrients.
- Use an effective skin cleanser to remove dirt and skin blockages.
- Exercise regularly to increase circulation and lymphatic flow. This also improves the skin condition, as well as colour.
- Avoid smoking - cigarettes reduce the necessary nutrients and oxygen required for a healthy skin.
